Pharmaron’s Apprenticeships in Medicines Manufacturing

Capabilities
At Pharmaron Biologics (UK) Ltd, we believe in cultivating scientific talent through apprenticeships in medicines manufacturing. Our commitment to employee development extends beyond traditional training, offering apprentices a unique blend of academic learning and hands-on industry experience.
A Program Built for Future Scientists
Pharmaron’s apprenticeship program provides individuals real-world experience in gene therapy, biologics development, and GMP manufacturing while earning qualifications. As Linda Randall, a founding member of the UK Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC), explains:
“Our apprentices learn product development, analytical assays, and manufacturing processes relevant to our industry while studying scientific principles at university. This combination equips them with the skills we need to advance cutting-edge therapies.”

Since 2018, Pharmaron has been a leader in apprenticeship training, hosting GMP Manufacturing Module training for UK apprentices. This initiative allows them to explore advanced therapies manufacturing, engage with industry leaders, and develop crucial communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Apprenticeships in Action: Lauren Beasley’s Journey
Lauren Beasley, an apprentice in Process Sciences, exemplifies the program’s success. Beginning with a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship, she is pursuing a Level 5 degree in Applied Biosciences (Advanced Therapies).
Reflecting on her experience, Lauren shares:

“My apprenticeship provides me with a career pathway and education to achieve my aspirations as a scientist. The support from my team and knowing my work impacts real-world treatments is incredibly rewarding.”
Lauren’s journey underscores the program’s impact, from mastering regulatory compliance to supporting client-driven research projects with tangible outcomes.
Developing Future Industry Leaders
Beyond technical training, Pharmaron apprenticeships offer professional growth. Aspiring leaders mentor apprentices, enhancing management and leadership skills. Employees have also pursued further education via the apprenticeship route, including MBAs, data science, and bioinformatics training, ensuring Pharmaron remains at the forefront of scientific innovation.
“We take entry-level apprentices and develop them into highly skilled scientists, providing them with a strong network and specialized training for Advanced Therapies,” says Linda Randall.

Pharmaron’s dedication to apprenticeships in medicines manufacturing continues to shape the next generation of scientists. We are building a future where science transforms lives by fostering talent, driving innovation, and investing in skill development.
